Installation of a replacement Gas Holder for Biffa at their Poplars Landfill AD plant in Cannock was put to work in May 2026. Utile were contracted to replace the Gas Holder that we originally installed over 15 years ago with a larger unit to meet their current demands. With space at a premium we were asked to design a solution utilising the same plinth but with an increased working volume. With the assistance of Dehn Electrical who carried out an LPS Risk Assessment we upgraded the lightning protection masts to accommodate the increased membrane height. A new local control panel was supplied and fitted along with laser level measurement and air blower pipework to complete the works. Removal of old, installation of new and commissioning back on line was achieved within 5 days to accommodate a narrow site shut down period.
